2026 Yield Survey results are in!

Last night, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Board of Directors was presented a Certificate of Recognition by IL State Representative Brad Halbrook.

The certificate commemorates America’s 250th Anniversary and MCFB’s commitment to farmers and their families for over 100 years.

Thank you, Representative Halbrook, for the thoughtful gesture!

We invite you to join us for the 2026 Montgomery County Yield Survey on Thursday (8/27) at 8 a.m. at the Extension office in Hillsboro.

Volunteers will form groups to survey fields and estimate yields in the 19 townships. The groups will reconvene by noon to compile the data and share results. Montgomery County Farm Bureau will provide a complimentary lunch.

If you plan to attend, call Montgomery County Extension at 217-532-3941 or register at go.illinois.edu/montcoyield.

We had a successful 50 Bird Derby trap shoot at Rountree Gun Club this morning!

Thank you Nokomis FFA Chapter for serving lunch and to all of our participants for making our first MCFB Young Leader Shoot such a great event!

Pickup dates and locations by species:

🐴 Horse Exhibitors: July 21-26 at the show office during check-in

🐖 Beef, Sheep, Swine & Goat Exhibitors: August 12-14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Find the Illinois Farm Bureau tent west of the 4-H Food Stand, near the Junior Livestock Building.

🐄Dairy Exhibitors: August 18 at 6 p.m. in the Livestock Center

NOW TAKING PEACH ORDERS!

New this year, we are offering a bulk peach order with Rendleman Orchards of Southern, Illinois!

FAYETTE PEACHES - A very large, round, freestone peach displaying an extremely high coloration on its smooth skin. Excellent for fresh eating, freezing, preserving, and desserts!

Items available for purchase:

25lb Box of Peaches @ $50
Peach Crisp Mix @ $10 (each mix makes 1 - 9x13 or 2 - 8x8 pans)

What you need to know:
🍑The Peaches are sold by the box only. Each box is 25lbs.
🍑The peaches will be delivered on Thursday, August 20th.
🍑Pick up will take place on August 20th from 8:30am – 4pm at MCFB Office
🍑Peaches MUST be picked up on delivery day. We will not be held responsible for the quality of fruit that is not picked up in a timely manner.
🍑Order deadline is Monday, August 10th at 4pm.
