The fire Departments of Highland County are having thier annual Spring Flower Sale, this weekend May 8th and 9th. Will be at the old firehouse in uptown Hillsboro. Over 100 hanging baskets and a limited number of ferns to choose from. $20 each.
Special thanks to Dale Martin for allowing us to come back uptown and use the old firehouse for the Sale. We will take cash, cars, venmo and check.

Statewide tornado drill today March 18, 2026. 09:50 am. Outdoor alert sirens will be tested.

There was an issue with the siren test today. We will be conducting another test at 2:20 pm to see if the problem has been corrected.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office Communications will be testing the Outdoor warning sirens today at noon. This will only be a test.

Due to cold temperatures and recent snow, the Outdoor Weather Sirens will not be tested today December 2nd, 2025. This is to prevent possibility of damaging the equipment. The next scheduled test will be January 7, 2026.
