Did you know your donation isn't " just a donation". It's a power of giving. When you give to Marion County Core Community you are giving to a family that is working to stay out of poverty. Your contributions help give them gas cards, free childcare, and a free meal, the curriculum while attending our Phase 1 "Getting Ahead Class". A class that teaches 11 different areas of Poverty. These areas include Financial, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual, Physical, Language, Social Capital, Integrity & Trust, Relationships/Role Models, Knowledge of Middle Class Rules, and Motivation & Persistence. Your donation gives so much more and mostly you give our leaders HOPE while lifting their spirits. Together We Can Build A Stronger Community. Let's Continue to Build 💜

Last week The Hillsboro Lion's provided some of their famous sausage from Dale's in Hillsboro and threw down in the kitchen to feed our Core Families. Thank you so much for providing our Core families a meal.

Are you a college student looking into teaching or maybe even a teacher or highschool student who has a passion for children? Are you energetic, self driven and positive or do you want to make a difference? 🌟

If you answered "YES" then we have a spot for you. Marion County Core is looking for about 6 volunteers to help out in our daycare every Thursday nights. You'll do crafts with the kiddos, read a book, and build new connections. A free meal will also be provided to those who volunteer. If you are interested please reach out to Tara Pease

Tonight's meal was provided by Alexanderwohl Church. With caring hearts and lots of love, this team stepped up to donate their time so all of our Core families had a meal. They provided sausage sandwiches, potato salad, chips, and cookies. Thank you Alexanderwohl for being there for our Marion County Core Community.

Labor comes in many ways from spending long hours in the field harvesting the crops, a long work week, and even staying home working on the house while you take care of the children's everyday needs and yours. No matter what your labor of love is we hope you find time to relax today and thank God that we all still get one more day to relax and to enjoy it with the people we love. Our site Coach Ashton Terronez stepped up and provided our Core Family with last night's Core Meal. Spaghetti with hamburger and pepperoni😋, garlic bread, banana, and an ice cream sandwich to treat that sweet tooth. Thank you so much Ashton for being our coach and providing last night's Marion County Core Meal.

I just came across this and WOWZERS! Mary Jane Grimmett is such an angel. She is also apart of our Advisory Core Council! Like others on our team, it is such an honor to have such amazing strong souls. Make sure to make your way down to the Florence Labor Day Festivals and show her your appreciation if you see her around. We truly have the best people in our Core Family.

Thank you Marion Community Foundation for all that you do ❤️

The Marion Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2026 Community Impact Grant program!

This spring, the Foundation awarded $5,811 to six local projects serving residents and communities across Marion County:

• Centre REC Program — $500
• Marion County Special Education — $1,000
• Core Community Marion County — $1,000
• Tampa Pride — $1,000
• Marion Department of Aging — $1,000
• Marion City Library — $1,311

These grants will support youth recreation, special education, poverty-reduction efforts, community events, senior services, and opportunities for local families.

“These grants are a good example of what the Marion Community Foundation is here to do—put charitable resources back to work in ways that benefit people throughout our community. The projects funded this year are very different from one another, but each addresses a real local need or creates an opportunity that strengthens Marion County.”

We are grateful to the organizations, volunteers, and community leaders who continue to develop projects that make Marion County a better place to live.
