We asked Hillsboro Fire & Rescue: “would you manage traffic at one of the busiest intersections in town for this event? They said…..yes.
We asked Rob Longthorne “would you be willing to bike 5 miles into a strong north wind to be the pacing bike for our run? He said….yes.
We asked Justin Grinde: “would you be the sweeper and come behind all the runners?” He said…:yes
We asked Laura Grinde: “would you come run a 5k with spray paint in your pocket at 8:30 am on a Sunday to prep the route?” She said….yes
We asked Allison Whisney “would you get us power from your hardware store?” She said……yes
We asked Paul Geray, “would you be able to get us a flag for the national anthem? He said…..yes
We asked Ryan Opdahl, Dustin Nagel, and Zach Hinkle, “can we borrow your golf cart(s)?” And they said…..yes
We asked Sundae Brew, “would you be able to be open a few hours so people can get warmed up?” And they said….yes
We asked Josh and Marin Opp to run the water station and second music station and they said….yes
Not to mention our awesome financial sponsors American Crystal Sugar, Bloomfield Enterprises, Millers Fresh Foods, Dakota Heritage Bank, Hillsboro Vets Club, Siwek Lumber and Hardware, Miller's Fresh Foods, and NoKota Packers, Inc. for sponsoring our medals, music, equipment needed for the run.
It takes a community of “yes” to do things like this and we are so grateful for ours! Thanks for making a great run for these BioGirls and community runners!
