Some people just have a way of showing up for others… and Jodi Meyerink Beach is one of them.

She has walked alongside some Game Plan 4 Hope families, helping carry burdens, organizing fundraisers, and showing up with so much compassion and care. Now, she’s facing something incredibly difficult of her own.

After years of searching for answers, Jodi was recently diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)—a condition that affects how the brain and body communicate and can be incredibly debilitating. Learn more about FND at www.fndhope.org

This one feels close to home as she is now one of three friends who have been diagnosed with FND, and we’d love to come around her the way she has for so many.

The Bellator Titans (an organization Jodi used to be a part of) are hosting a Pre-Mother’s Day Brunch & Fun-Run Scavenger Hunt to support Jodi and her journey. 💛

Game Plan 4 Hope has been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Putting for a Purpose golf tournament hosted by Team Teveldal State Farm Ty Teveldal, State Farm Agent .

When Ty reached out, I honestly just paused for a moment in gratitude. I truly see God’s hand in moments like this—when people step in to help us carry hope to families walking through the unthinkable.

This day will be filled with fun—golf, laughter, connection—but what it truly represents is hope. Real, tangible hope for families who need to be reminded they are seen, loved, and not alone.

Walking With Families Like Brielle’s — Because No One Should Face a New Normal Alone

On November 15, Brielle’s life changed when she was injured in the RSM girls’ basketball bus accident. Since then, she has undergone spinal cord/back surgery, been air-lifted to Nebraska Medical Center, and is now courageously working through intensive rehab.

On Dec 10, we drove to Remsen to meet her dad, Rob — and to walk through their home for an assessment so Brielle can safely return home on her expected release date of January 20, 2026.

Later that evening, her mom, Janelle, shared an update that truly captures Brielle’s strength:

“The therapists really pushed Brielle today, and she rose to the challenge beautifully… She learned how to use her head to shift her trunk forward and backward — such a huge skill to add to her progress.”

We were humbled to sit with Rob and Janelle and share hope, encouragement, and perspective on navigating a new normal. Trenton spoke into Brielle’s journey with words only another athlete could give:

“Rehab was something I had to do just like practice… not something fun or easy — just something you do to get better.”

As we read Janelle’s CaringBridge update her mom posted for Dec 10, this quote from Stuart Scott hit deeply:

“Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny.”

Brielle is doing exactly that.
