Hilliard’s Environmental Sustainability Commission (ESC) is an advisory commission to City Council consisting of nine volunteer members, as well as representatives from City Council and the Mayor. City Council created the ESC in 2011 to provide advice on issues regarding sustainability and to assist the City of Hilliard with the development and implementation of programs that create or enhance sus

tainable practices within our community. The ESC’s Go Green initiative is made possible through a grant from SWACO. The Go Green initiative is designed to provide simple and easy-to-use information on waste reduction, energy conservation, and water conservation that Hilliard residents, businesses, and community organizations can use every day. The initiative and this website are where the Hilliard community can learn how to Go Green at home and at work. The Go Green initiative is also designed as a way to recognize our Hilliard residents, businesses, and community organizations who pledge to take concrete steps towards protecting our environment. 🌱The Hilliard Environmental Sustainability Commission is growing! Apply by April 10.

We're an active volunteer commission that works to make our city greener, and we're happy to welcome two more members for full-term positions to the Hilliard ESC.

Did mosquitoes keep you indoors this summer? Let’s do something about it!

In partnership with Hilliard’s Environmental Sustainability Commission, the Ohio State University is running a mosquito control program to determine methods for reducing mosquito populations while protecting our beneficial insects (known as pollinators). Ohio State needs some volunteer households to receive free mosquito control (pesticides and non-pesticide options).

Last night, we hosted a meeting for our sustainability friends in Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Worthington, Grandview and UA!! MORPC & SWACO representatives were also in attendance.

We love these opportunities to meet and chat with other communities about what sustainability looks like for their residents!! This is how we do good..together! 🌏 🌱 ♻️
