We are excited to welcome returning Rescue Partner Friends of Rabbits!

Friends of Rabbits (FoR) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization founded in 1997 as a domestic rabbit rescue. We take house rabbits in from crowded and high-kill shelters in the region, in addition to stray domestic rabbits and hoarding situations. Over 90% of our work is accomplished by a large network of volunteers, fosters and donors, that help us save over 200 rabbits each year.

Buttercup's Bunny Boutique will help guide you in building your own custom playmat for your bunny, teaching you all the tips, tricks and answering any questions.

We have blocked and deleted some comments, but if you see anyone selling our logo and other rabbit rescue logos and the links look peculiar, do not engage and/or report! See comments for scam photos.

Our official Midwest BunFest apparel sales run specifically through our Bonfire store, and our page has the verified nonprofit badge: bonfire.com/midwest-bunfest-2026/

If anyone did purchase anything from the page, they should dispute the charge with their credit card company. Those who were tagged in the scam post will be mentioned below to be sure you are aware.

Proof of vaccination must be shown upon entry to the main BunFest event and the Hospitality Suite. Proof of RHDV vaccination is required from an authorized veterinarian. If this is your rabbit’s first vaccine, it is administered in two doses, three weeks apart. Both doses must be administered before BunFest. If previously vaccinated, then proof of an annual booster within the last year must be shown.

We are binkying on into Midwest BunFest 2026 (Sunday, October 25th!) with the theme:

🐰 Binky On! 🐰

Theme description:

Bunnies binky when they feel joy. A bunny binky involves a big hop into the air, a twirling of the body, and enthusiastic kicking of the legs. It’s often followed by zoomies and head shakies - these are just some of the adorable things a happy, joyful bunny does.

Midwest BunFest’s 2026 theme is all about the joy of rabbits. Many rescued rabbits start out in rough shape, only to open up and relax once they know they are safe and around humans they can trust. This human cares and provides everything needed for the rabbit to thrive. Then, it happens: the binky!

Space to run and play - yes!
A place to be themselves - check!
Somewhere they are loved - hooray!
A home to be silly and sassy - woo hoo!

These resilient bunnies “binky on” and move beyond their past into the loving present moment, displaying their dance of utter joy! And we get the honor of witnessing it!

We can learn so much from these amazing animals. Where can you follow the bunny’s lead and binky on? Rabbits teach us to be silly, have fun, be present, and so much more. We just have to watch and learn.
