Citizens Against Greyhound Racing - CAGR

Citizens Against Greyhound Racing - CAGR CAGR is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization committed to bringing an end to specific abuses of the greyhound breed including their use as a racing dog.

Citizens Against Greyhound Racing is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to promote the greyhound as a highly esteemed companion animal via public education and to protect the breed by ending specific abuses including its use as a racing dog. In May 2004, PCAGR was instrumental in the initiation and passage of PA House Bill 832, which proactively banned live greyhound racing i

n the state of Pennsylvania. Realizing at this point that the scope of our advocacy efforts were expanding beyond the borders of our home state, the decision was made to remove “Pennsylvania” from our name and we became Citizens Against Greyhound Racing (CAGR). In July 2011, CAGR was once again successful in the initiation and passage of PA House Bill 67, which proactively banned simulcasting of greyhound racing in the state of Pennsylvania. CAGR continues to raise awareness of the exploitation of this gentle breed in our efforts to bring an end to the greyhound racing industry.
