Calling all history buffs 📣
Join New Jersey History on Saturday September 19 at 7 pm, to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary year with an entertaining and enlightening evening featuring Dr. David Martin, and his presentation, George Washington’s Sense of Humor.
While George Washington is often remembered as a serious and stoic military leader, he also possessed a lively sense of humor. Dr. Martin will explore this lesser-known side of Washington’s personality, sharing stories that reveal his wit, humor, and humanity during some of the most difficult years of the Revolutionary War.
Dr. David Martin is well known for his knowledge of New Jersey’s role during the Revolutionary War. As President of the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield, he recently shared his knowledge of the longest day of battle in the Revolutionary War. Dr. Martin spent a lifetime as an educator at The Peddie School in Hightstown, where he taught Latin for 50 years and made a significant contribution to the school community, students, and alumni. Following his teaching career, Dr. Martin has continued his work at Peddie as the school’s archivist.
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Capacity is limited to 50 guests.
