shall be designed to promote spiritual development and growth by: fostering communication, connectedness and support; pursuing, nurturing and affirming creativity and diversity; promoting awareness of the challenges women face; developing ways to meet challenges and overcome obstacles to spiritual and religious growth; encouraging leadership skills through participation in planning the organization‘s development, growth and activities; and developing the use of consensus decision making. We host monthly book clubs meetings, social hour, rituals. These events are posted in our events are you are welcome to attend. We also two live events during the year and love hosting newcomers. Please let us know if you need any assistance registering for any of these events. These biannual events in the Spring and Fall offer the experience of an all-woman retreat where women can strengthen their talents and renew their energy in a supportive and safe environment. Our events consist of two parts (Institute and Gathering). All Institute and Gathering activities are optional; during these events we encourage you to make choices that best meet your needs. UUWomenspirit expects and encourages all women to honor the safety, integrity, and confidentiality of those attending its sponsored events.

Under tonight’s full moon and lunar eclipse, we’re reminded of cycles, thresholds, shadow, and return.

It feels like a good moment to ask: what is calling you toward renewal, reflection, and reconnection?

Registration for Waters of the Spirit closes soon. Our Fall 2026 gathering will take place September 30–October 4 at The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center in Highlands, NC.

Register here: https://www.uuwomenspirit.org/

Now is a good time to choose your path through the weekend: an Institute track, Gathering workshops, intentional Free Time, Brigid’s Bazaar, Cabaret, drumming and dancing, sacred circle, quiet reflection, or simply time to reconnect with yourself and community on The Mountain.

Tracks and workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so registering soon gives you the best chance of getting the options that call to you.

The deadline to register is September 9, and the last day to order event keepsakes.

We hope you’ll join us for Waters of the Spirit.

Did you know? At Waters of the Spirit, you can listen for the healing power of sound.

Throughout the weekend, our theme will flow through voice, rhythm, chant, sound, and deep listening.

You might explore your own voice as a healing instrument in Letting Your Voice Flow to Create Inner Harmony — a workshop especially welcoming to those who think they “can’t sing.”

You might also rest into a Sound Bath Healing Circle, with crystal singing bowls and resonant sound offered as tools for grounding and restoration.

Come join us!

Welcome to Lammas season! Officially on August 1, sharing the celebration on August 2 is NOT too late, as the harvest is just beginning!

Lammas, sometimes called Lughnasadh, is an excellent time to notice what is ripening, what has been tended, and what we are beginning to gather in.

This season invites gratitude and a moment to pause before the fuller harvests still to come. What has grown in your life this summer? What are you ready to gather and what are you ready to share?

As we move toward our Fall 2026 gathering, Waters of the Spirit, we are deeply grateful for our community. Registration is open now -- and Early Bird pricing still applies!

Blessings of the first harvest to you.

Wondering what to expect at Waters of the Spirit? Takes place September 30 – October 4, 2026!

Registration is now open: https://www.uuwomenspirit.org/register

This fall, we’ll gather as a small community of approximately 65–75 women at The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center, surrounded by rustic cabins, mountain views, white oaks, and the living presence of water.

There may be rain. Waterfalls are never far away. A lake waits at the bottom of the mountain. Together, we’ll explore what water can teach us about flow, transformation, renewal, mystery, and connection.

Expect circles of sharing, cookies and community, drumming, dancing if you’re into it, creative exploration, worship, ritual, and time to simply be on the Mountain.

You’ll also find Sacred Shopping at Brigid’s Bazaar, featuring beautiful wares brought by our sisters.

Workshops and tracks offer many ways to enter the theme, from teardrop necklaces and painting to labyrinth making and learning about the interplay between rocks, water, and rivers. More details are available in the event brochure.

Curious and want to learn more? Join our Zoom full moon ritual and event preview on Wednesday, July 29.

This fall, we’ll gather at The Mountain to explore what water can teach us in its many forms -- as river, mist, snow, ocean, waterfall, rain, tide, and deep well.

Together, we’ll reflect on movement, mystery, transformation, oneness, renewal, and flow through workshops, worship, ritual, creativity, community, and time in the beauty of the mountains.

We hope you’ll join us as we enter the waters together.

A quick note that registration for our spring UUWomenspirit gathering closes tomorrow, April 1.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, this is the moment to say yes.

Our theme this year, “Be Where Our Feet Are,” is an invitation to slow down, arrive in the present, and spend time in community with other women doing the same.

We would love to gather with you.
