Relay For Life of Highlands, NC

The world lost a special person today. Relay For Life and the ACS Cancer Action Network lost a loyal friend, volunteer, and advocate. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with sad and broken hearts that we share that Christy Kelly passed away early this morning. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Her funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Highlands (471 Main Street Highlands, NC 28741) on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00am with a reception to follow. All are welcome.

As we all know, her dedication to service above self was profound and unmatched. Her love, care and kind attention to the Highlands community will be impossible to replicate. In lieu of flowers, the family is setting up a scholarship fund, which donations can be made once details are known.

Thank you Highlands for such a great evening last night. The weather wasn't favorable early in the evening, but once we were finally able to get started it was a fun night with great food, fun and entertainment. Thank you to everyone who came and supported the fight against cancer. You guys are incredible!

At our event, this Friday we will have a “Pig Catchin’ Contest” in which Jim Tate, Dr. Patti Wheeler, and other community members will battle it out in attempts to catch a greased pig. The goal of this event is to raise money for Relay for Life. Our goal is $8,000 and we need your support. The link below is where you can make donations directly to this fundraising event.
