NEHS Clean Ocean Action

NEHS Clean Ocean Action The COA has been helping eliminate trash from the New Jersey/New York shores since 1984.

The COA was founded by those 125 plus groups in 1984 when they all saw a need to aid in the environmental safety of the shores, for the people and the animals that reside there. Between Beach Sweeps and underwater diving sessions to clean up trash, over 606,000 pounds of trash has been removed from the Jersey and New York coasts since 1993. This non-profit organization can do so because of sponsor

ed donations from major companies, volunteers, local students’ contributions, donations from willing citizens and the voluntary work of the community. Rest assured, if you’re one of those that have donated to the COA or are planning on it, your money is in good hands, your money goes to educating communities about the issues of water pollution, its impact on the environment and how to fix it, and actually fixing them with community events such as Beach Sweeps and underwater diving sessions. The COA is also helping educate and outreach to the community about the epidemic and have gone to many lengths to get involved with the government and lawmakers to help stop the problem.
