Our Fresh Access Franklin project made the news last night! Big thanks to Cara Lee Langston of Franklin Farm Hub for spending some time with WLOS to talk about this collaborative project through funding from Dogwood Health Trust!

Five local partners in the Town of Franklin have teamed up to create Fresh Access Franklin, providing a new resource for those experiencing food insecurity.

On Monday, July 6, 2026, Pisgah Legal Services will hold partner office hours at the Highlands Food Pantry from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment needed.

During pantry hours, you can talk with Pisgah Legal staff about housing problems for tenants, mortgage and foreclosure issues, domestic violence, debt, scams and fraud, benefits (Medicaid, SSI/SSDI, food stamps), immigration law, disaster recovery (including Renew NC denials), tax prep, and health insurance navigation.

Come by the Highlands Food Pantry to get food support and legal help in one welcoming, trusted space. If you can’t make it but would like to connect with Pisgah Legal Services, call 828-253-0406 or apply online.

We're heading into our last few days of our Annual Fund, and there's still time for you to make an impact.

When Mr. Davis got hurt on the job and had to miss six weeks of work, he and his wife wondered how they would provide for their two children. But despite missing out on a paycheck for a month and a half, access to the Highlands Food Pantry eased their stress and allowed Mr. Davis to recover even more quickly by giving him time to heal.
