Open PTO Position – Nominate Yourself or Someone You Know!

Interested in volunteering for the PTO? The PTO is looking to fill the Auction Support Committee Manager position for this 26-27 school year. The person in this role supports PTO fundraising efforts throughout the year, with a primary focus on procuring donations for the BENefit Bash, other auctions, and events. They will be responsible for coordinating donation outreach and helping to manage donated items. For more details on this position, visit the PTO webpage and click ‘Volunteers & Elections.’

Franklin Fest Wrap Up- THANK YOU!

This year’s Franklin Fest was a great success with over 700 people attending the event! This event was a great example of the BFA community coming together to create an amazing afternoon for our

families. There were incredible cakes at the cakewalk, several inflatables, a DJ, hamster balls, face painting, and balloon artists!

A big shout out to Mandi Fox, Kelly Ott, and Abby Jensen who spent countless hours planning and organizing this event to ensure it was enjoyable and fun for all.

Thank you to the STEM Committee for providing several fun STEM activities for the kids and to the PTO Baking Committee for their support of the cake walk. And thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for helping to set up, clean up, and run stations during the event! We couldn't have done it without you!

This time-honored event is a great way to connect with the whole Ben Franklin community! We hope you'll join us for activities, food, and fun on Saturday, September 26 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at BFA. There will be games, bounce houses, face painting and glitter tattoos, balloon artists, heavy snacks, a dunk tank, and the always popular CAKE WALK!!!! All families are welcome!

September’s Volunteer of the Month

For the month of September, Katie Choury has been selected as the Ben Franklin Academy Volunteer of the Month. She was nominated by Principal Simpson and the front office staff because she has set herself apart and set an excellent example of outstanding volunteerism at this year's Lightning Launch! For all of her efforts, we'd like to say thank you and recognize Katie.

Katie and her husband, Jamison, are proud parents of three, two boys and a girl. Her sons, Cooper and Tucker, attend Ben Franklin Academy in 5th and 3rd grade, while her daughter, Teddie, is in preschool. Her family has been part of the BFA community for 3 years, and Katie loves being involved and giving back to the school whenever she can.

When asked what she likes about BFA, Katie said: “I especially love the strong sense of community at BFA and the incredible support and dedication of the teachers, staff, and families. I feel grateful to be part of such a wonderful school community and enjoy giving back through volunteering and being involved in the events and activities that make BFA such a special place."

Congratulations, again, Katie. And, thank you for all you do for BFA!

Franklin Fest Ticket Sales Extended Through Next Tuesday! Get Yours Today!

Next Tuesday, September 22, is the last day to purchase Franklin Fest tickets. Everyone must purchase a ticket (unless you have completed your family’s recommended volunteer hours for the year). Tickets are $10 per person and are on sale NOW through MySchoolBucks.

This time-honored event is a great way to connect with the whole Ben Franklin community! We hope you'll join us for activities, food, and fun on Saturday, September 26 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at BFA. We can't make this event happen without our volunteers! Volunteers spend a little time helping with setup and tear down, inflatables, food, and check-in, and can spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the event with their family! We hope you'll consider volunteering to help staff the event, or donating a cake for the cake walk! These are great, FUN opportunities to meet other BFA families and spend time connecting with friends.
