Ed’s Story of Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse and Inspiration for MeTooWhatNow

Ed Squire was born and raised in Prince George, BC Canada. He was sexually assaulted by his grandfather, a next-door neighbor and elementary school teacher in grades 4 and 5.

Ed began his college education in business, computer information systems and marketing which led him to owning and operating several businesses. In 2003, a career opportunity brought him to Atlanta, Georgia. Eventually, the childhood sexual abuse he suffered caught up with him and he found himself unable to work and on disability in full-time recovery.

“When I reached my breaking point, I realized it was time to begin to tell my story”, says Ed.

In the spring of 2017 he filed a public lawsuit against the School Board in the province of British Columbia, Canada where he attended elementary school including his teacher, Wendell Diakiw.
