Hello Rocky Mountain NSTRA !

We hope your summer has been filled with great times! We know our weather may not suggest our fall hunting season is near however it’s actually just around the corner and it can not come soon enough in some of our opinions.

We are excited to announce our first fall trial will be September 26th and 27th. We are in need of a trial chairman and ask all our members to consider Chairing or Co Chairing. If you have questions please contact Eric Cecil.

We look forward to catching up with everyone and enjoying couple days running our pups together!

Hello NSTRA

What an outstanding weekend in the Rocky Mountain Region!! Saturday was a huge success with (18) members attending the judging clinic.

Special Thanks to Dean Goodall and Kristy Goodall for the amazing class instruction . Additional thanks needs to go to Ryan Kogut and Cj Kausel for all their efforts to make the clinic a success. It was great Alan Higham was in attendance and provided even more amazing knowledge and experience.

Sundays Trial was awesome! Couldn’t believe the weather cooperated and allowed us to watch some of the best dogs in the country go to work. It was absolutely great to be with members that have supporting our region for years and to see so many new members in the fields with their pups to include Bruce Williams and Mary Anne Williams and their (2) pups traveling (17) hours from San Mateo to enjoy the NSTRA weekend with us. When opportunities presented themselves, judging clinic attendees were getting judging ride alongs on the books.

We want to say a special thank you to our judges, Alan Higham, Dean Goodall, Scott Dickinson and Ryan Kogut. Our amazing bird planter Marco and the great chef Tony Basile.

Hello NSTRA

Well it’s time to grab your gear and pups and head to our trial in Hudson CO. It’s with great excitement we will have full day of trialing with (30) dogs in each trial / field. Now saying this means we will need to get started a little earlier but it’s a good thing.

First Brace on Sunday June 14th 2026 starts at 7am !

Please note our amazing chef / member Mr Tony Basile (Chairman training / mentor committee ) will be heading up the lunch hour with the BBQ serving Hamburgers , Hot Dogs and some good ole Potato Salad. Cost for lunch will be $10 please.

We want to add our Committe Chairman Ryan Kogut and Cj Kausel have done an absolute amazing job putting together the judging Clinic with (15) members signed up for June 13th 2026 clinic. Great Work !! Our amazing instructors Dean Goodall and Kristy Goodall have officially arrived in CO and are ready to go . Thank You Dean and Kristy !

NSTRA Judging Clinic & Open/Novice Trial

Saturday, June 13th – Judging Clinic
Instructors: Dean and Kristy Goodall

The purpose of this clinic is not only to increase the number of qualified judges within our region, but also to help newer members gain a better understanding of NSTRA rules and procedures.

This will be an outstanding and informative clinic covering much more than just the rulebook. Dean has prepared several real-world “what if” scenarios, accompanied by video examples, highlighting situations that commonly arise during trials where handlers and judges may be uncertain of the correct response.

In addition to rule interpretation, field tactics and handling strategies will also be discussed to help improve both handler performance and overall success in the field. Whether you are interested in becoming a judge or simply improving your trial knowledge and dog handling skills, this clinic will be extremely valuable for members of all experience levels.

Hello NSTRA and Rocky Mountain Region !

Our spring trials were nothing short of excellent dog work and amazing fellowship! We are extremely excited as we are looking forward to our fall trials. We are building the schedule now and will announce shortly.

We do want to bring to our RM Region members attention we have designated committees to help our region move forward. We welcome all members to join a committee and help support its goals as we build a strong region full of trials, great training/mentorship, a roster full of judges, a regional championship in 2027 and amazing fellowship through and through.
