Not everyone arrives at this season with a thankful heart.
- Some are grieving a loss that still feels too fresh.
- Some are praying for two pink lines that never seem to appear.
- Some are spending the holiday in a hospital room, not around a table.
- Some are surrounded by family but still feel completely alone.
- Some are trying to find peace in a story that didn’t unfold the way they hoped.
So before you measure someone’s gratitude by their smile, remember - for many, just showing up takes all the strength they have.
This year, National Kindness Day falls on November 13 - a date that holds deep meaning for us at Millie’s Gift. The number 13 is stitched into our daughter Millie’s story through Trisomy 13, and it reminds us that kindness can be born even from heartbreak.
Kindness is what carried us when the world felt too heavy. It still does… It’s what continues to connect families who walk this tender path of loss, love, and hope.
As we move toward Thanksgiving, let’s carry that spirit with us - not only in moments of gratitude, but in moments of grace.
A gentle word.
A listening ear.
A simple “you’re not alone.”
These are the quiet acts of kindness that remind others they are seen, loved, and remembered.
At Millie’s Gift, we honor every family navigating a story that looks different from the one they dreamed of - families holding both sorrow and gratitude, grief and grace.
Sending love to those who are:
- Mourning a precious baby or loved one
- Hoping for new life
- Feeling alone or unseen this year
- Navigating grief, anxiety, or uncertainty
- Missing someone at the table
You are thought of, you are loved, and you are not alone.
