Another Chukar Championship is in the books!

A little rain (okay, a lot of rain) didn’t stop us from enjoying a full day of dog work and camaraderie. A total of 23 teams competed today, and we had some very close scores.

Congratulations go to:
🥇 1st & 3rd Place - Ryan Thayer and Jack
🥈 2nd Place - Mike Kuzma and Rehab

A HUGE THANK YOU goes to our handlers, our bird planters, our judges, Casey for coordinating, and everyone who participated. You all showed up to play in the rain today, and because of that we raised more than $1000 towards a pavilion at Sod Farm. Thank you for helping us turn this into reality!

SEMI NAVHDA was thrilled and thankful to host local veterinarian Dr. Chris Repke for a Canine First Aid clinic this afternoon.

During the sold-out seminar, Dr. Chris addressed common scenarios we might encounter with our versatile dogs, breaking them down into emergencies, things to treat in the field or truck, and things that can wait for a call Monday. He covered topics specifically requested by members, and shared how to be prepared in real-world scenarios.

Dr. Chris generously donated his time for the event, so the entire fee for the clinic went to providing custom first aid kits for all attendees. These were no off-the-shelf kit; the items were recommended by Dr. Chris and curated specifically for this seminar. There are no extra kits available for purchase, but the contents list is included here so you can make sure you have all you need to be prepared!

A huge thank you to Dr. Chris from Pointe Animal Hospital for so generously sharing his time and knowledge; to Highland Fire Dept. Station 1 for allowing us to use the training room, and to Dale Bolyard for planning and coordinating.

Mark your calendar for March 7 - our first Member Meeting of the year is at noon, where we'll share updates and chapter news for 2026.

Afterward, stay for lunch and participate in the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off! Bring a pot of your best chili and try to unseat last year's winner, Will Borden. A $5 donation gets you a chance to try them all and vote for your favorite.
