Team Tuna Day 3 work day - Today we spent the morning at a convalescent home. We played bingo, did puzzles and enjoyed getting to know the life stories of the residents. We then finished our work day at the Open Doors Thrift Shop where we sorted through clothes and hung them on hangers. They sell the clothing for $3 (or more). That $3 will provide a meal for someone. We filled up a few big racks with clothes and could really see how our efforts will help the community in the Bayou!

Team oysters day two! Today we worked with Goodwill of the gulf coast! When we arrived we took a tour that showed us a new side to the thrift store giant. This location was not a thrift store at all but instead a community building used for many different community resources, a GED learning center, kaleidoscope (a day camp for the disabled), and a ware house dedicated in doing work assessments for disabled individuals. After the tour the youth worked in the warehouse helping build spill kits that where then used to finish an order by a grant! They did 80 kits and helped with bag folding! We are super proud of their hard work!

Team Tuna work days Day 1 and 2: We had 2 hot but fun days installing 4 rain barrels with Rebuilding Together of South Alabama. These rain barrels are provided to residents free of charge. They help by controlling moisture levels around homes and preventing floods, mold and rotting materials. It also provides a free water source for watering flowers, washing cars or bathing pets. Our team of all boys (with the female leaders) loved getting to climb ladders and use power tools! They learned a lot and enjoyed working with Trista and Jacob and meeting some of the residents.

Day one! Team oysters! Started at 6:30 am with breakfest prep! The boys did an amazning job working hard at feeding the gulf in the morning and open door thrift store in the afternoon! Very hot but they had a blast with the rest of the team from Wisconsin and the organizations we’ve been volunteering with!

We have to apologize! We have been taking the summer off of posting but WE ARE BACK! Still under construction but it's been a summer of change, and we are glad to be back and firing on all cylinders!

Next Glow youth group will be September 8th! It's also parent night!!!! Youth from 5 pm to 7 pm with the parent meeting starting at 6:30! If you have been thinking about coming and growing in your relationship with God, there is no better time to join the Glow!

Big Thank you to all that came out and made the first annual G.L.O.W. youth group egg hunt a success! Over 800 eggs and over 45 children came and had a blast! Can’t wait for next year!
