Happy Labor Day from the Highland Optimist Club! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of all those who help make our community strong. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing Labor Day with family and friends.

As part of our Avenue of Flags program, our American flags would normally be retired after the Labor Day display. However, this year marks the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, and in honor of those who lost their lives, the first responders who answered the call, and the enduring spirit of our nation, we will be leaving the flags displayed for an additional week through September 11.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Highland community for your continued support of the Avenue of Flags program. Your participation helps us honor our nation's heritage while supporting the Highland Optimist Club's efforts to serve local youth and community programs throughout the year.

🌦️ Fireworks Update! 🎆

We've seen the forecast, and the fireworks are still ON for tonight!

While there is a chance of some rain, we are moving forward as planned! Come out to enjoy an incredible Independence Day fireworks show!

📍 Fireworks begin at dusk (approximately 9:00 PM).

We'll share any updates if conditions change, but as of now, it's a GO! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone tonight! 🇺🇸✨

As we begin our 10th Year of the Avenue of Flags program (TEN YEARS!!), we are so grateful for the support and patriotism of this wonderful community we serve 🇺🇸. We do ask for your patience as the Highland Optimists, in cooperation with several area youth organizations and teams, facilitate this 100% with volunteers. Tonight we joined with Highland Rotary Club and Highland Moose for the Annual Jule Luber Respect for Law Banquet. Congratulations to all the award winners!

At last Monday evening’s regular meeting, we welcomed new member Bill Sloan sponsored by Corey Suter. We also enjoyed presentations from HHS Resource Officer Biggs regarding the E-Sports Club and Mr. Herman, HHS Engineering Instructor, brought out students to demonstrate the Drone program which we are proud to support!
