Union of Rutgers Administrators American Federation of Teachers, Local 1766. URA-AFT is the union for administrative workers at Rutgers Our peers at NJ State colleges are AFT affiliates.

The Union of Rutgers Administrators consists of Administrative workers who have joined the American Federation of Teachers, the largest union of higher education employees, to form URA—AFT. As dedicated professionals, we are building a strong, democratic organization to protect our rights and demand the respect we deserve at Rutgers University. The Rutgers faculty union is an AFT affiliate. Uniting with more than 40,000 professional workers in New Jersey and more than 1.3 million nationwide gives our voice tremendous power. Across Rutgers our members are being subjected to “face-clocking” for time keeping. We demand to negotiate terms of consent and the right to refuse use of these machines.

We’ve got another T.A! (on an article not the whole contract) This one for Probationary employees, granting them “day 60 meetings” to discuss performance. Aside from that we’re still waiting on management for a response to our economic proposals. We also pressed management on defining “work units” so as to better discern seniority lists during layoffs.

Next week it’s about to go ⬇️ Join us on College Ave, Cook/Doug or in Camden to gather with other URA members and send solidarity to our action in Newark at the Board of Governors. We’ve had it with less bargaining sessions, mgmt walking out on us, and having no responses to even our non-economic proposals. Wear your URA blues 👕
