Since the end of December 2025,
Detroit Water and Sewerage Department
has shutoff more than
900 Homes
in the middle of cold frigid temperatures

The Water Shutoffs have
resumed in March 2026
There is no monies or
funds for assistance anywhere
The Lifeline H20 plan
has stopped enrollment
and Residents are left
with Easypay Payment Plan Arrangements
that are unaffordable
and strike them out of
affordable payments
to owe 1 time water bill
past due payments or
live with their water shutoff

As we all know,
Water Shutoffs are Dangerous
and Public Health and
Safety Hazards
to the welfare of our residents

Please we are asking
of community partners
to stand with us,
by helping constituents in
your area and also
we must raise money for
citizens in their time of need.
Hydrate Detroit
is funded by people
like you whom want to see
a positive change in Detroit.

We are asking citizens
to call us directly
or get in touch with us.
We will answer their
questions and consult them
on best ways to solve their
water bill issues and provide
solutions on how to get out
of water bill hell.

I am asking my community partners
to please spread the word to all our
residents and citizens of Detroit
so that nobody is left behind or shutoff of their most essential need which is water

Lets Get Ready for the Hydrate Detroit Holiday Online Fundraiser.

I am VERY EXCITED to kick this off. starting on Monday December 1st and we will officially go Live on Giving Tuesday December 2nd to start this fundraiser off right. Please donate to our website www.hydratedetroit.org and click the picture of this flyer

We are going to SHARE THIS PICTURE along to our networks and partners by encouraging others to donate to Hydrate Detroit. Please donate today as we appreciate you for helping our neighbors.

I cannot and will not ask my social media followers anymore than i can bear to ask them for help at this time of need... but i am asking those whom are social media warriors and content creators to be a water ambassador for Hydrate Detroit.

I can ask of those to help us with a goal making sure we cash out everyone in the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department Lifeline water plan to be zeroed out of their water bills so they won't have to worry anymore about unaffordability.

I can ask of those to help us provide down payment assistance for the DWSD Easy pay program if they don't have any money down or means to pay for a new payment plan arrangement. It's very easy.

And I can ask of those to help us celebrate and conclude our ten year anniversary by making this winter fundraiser exceeds its goal and show up for the city residents by flooding the block with donations and assurances to keep their water on without the threat of shutoff.

You all show up and show out every year for the past three years that we held Christmas fundraisers for the holidays and we appreciate you for doing whatever you can but now as of this fundraiser, we all must do more and try to challenge the status quo to give the gift of water this holiday season. Continue to keep doing so.

This will be fun to keep the goal of serving Detroit residents making sure they have access to clean water and affordabilty without having their water shutoff. It's also fun for us cause we have built of network of followers, donors, community partners and people like you to share solutions and results. It is appreciated

Hydrate Detroit is raising money to help residents who are struggling to pay their water bill this holiday season.

With the clock winding down on lawmakers, water advocates called on legislators to act during what they called an emergency press conference Monday.

“As we make our phone calls, as we urge our lawmakers that they could bring up to the floor tomorrow. Now, they could wait until next year, should they choose. But we’re not certain about next year,” Demeeko Williams, chief director of Hydrate Detroit. “We cannot wait until next year. I’m sorry, I’m not going to take no for an answer.” Hydrate Detroit offers aid for customers who are facing discontinued water service.

Advocates are urging Michigan lawmakers to pass several water affordability bills before the session ends.

Giving Tuesday is tomorrow throughout all month of December and I am asking for everyone to be a water ambassador for Hydrate Detroit and share this post. This is open to the public.

This winter Fundraiser will start on Giving Tuesday lasting all month long. Continue our work to serve the community that needs us at this time.
Give the gift of water restoration to families in the city of Detroit at risk of high water bills and make a bigger difference within sharing water with your neighbors.

I really want to focus on signing people up for the new Easypay program from DWSD, finding anyone who is currently on 10/30/50 to enroll in the new program. Then I want to find those persons on lifeline at risk of being removed off the program from non-payment cause they are unable to pay also address the possible lead in our water to develop a solution.

Right now it's critical as we need everyones support at this time.
