Programs include the 20-year-old Comic Thread sketch comedy troupe, the 14-year-old Bitter Jester Music Festival for youth across the Midwest, and the 13-year-old Purple Shirts ensemble. The Bitter Jester Foundation for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization created to produce and promote all forms of artistic expression. of new and classic works as well as other forms of literary arts, performing arts, media arts, audio/visual arts and entertainment productions
BJFA also works to strengthen the arts, support emerging artists of all ages, and encourage persons to enter the arts by providing scholarships and grants to fine and applied arts students and by promoting the benefits of the arts to the general public. BJFA is proudly affiliated with Bitter Jester Creative, Inc, a 6-time Emmy award-winning Chicagoland production company.
