From the late Professor Marvin Marvin Surowitz:
"Earth Community’s Mission is to develop a planetary consciousness that the fate of all the world’s people are intertwined. It is about building a global consensus for peace, ecological sustainability, multiculturalism, biodiversity and a shared feeling that life is good on Planet Earth. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a p
lanet! Just as being a citizen of a city doesn't preclude being a citizen of a nation, being a citizen of a nation shouldn't preclude thinking of ourselves as part of Earth Community. Our time right now is pivotal. The problems facing humanity are global. Our response should also be global. Let’s begin to see ourselves as part of one community . . . Daily we are aware of the plight of the planet and the planet’s people. To paraphrase Albert Einstein: “The same levels of thinking which got us into our preset predicaments are not sufficient to get us out of them. We need to develop whole new levels of thinking.”
IT’S TIME TO COME TOGETHER AS THE ONE GLOBAL COMMUNITY THAT WE ARE! THE POSSIBILITY IS THERE ! ! WHAT WILL YOU DO ? ? When people become globally conscious we will stop throwing rocks and missiles at each other, live in peace and take on global issues like protecting the Earth’s Biodiversity. We are told that when Earth is viewed from Outer Space, it is difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish borders and individual countries.
– what is seen are the greens of the forests and the blues of the oceans. What is seen is the only planet in our solar system, and perhaps in our universe that we know for certain provides its inhabitants with the atmosphere to sustain life. What is seen is unique in the universe – our home planet – Earth!! Visualize our Planet traveling in space in tandem with other planets in our Solar System orbiting through the Milky Way Galaxy in the Virgo Super Cluster within the Universe… inhabited by more than 7 billion Earth-People and a multi-diversity of trillions of plants and animals, as well as oceans and mountains and lakes and streams, all within a cosmos of unknown dimensions and scope which we view with mystery and awe."
