Reggie McKenzie Foundation

Reggie McKenzie Foundation Reggie McKenzie Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves the inner-city youngsters of the metropolitan Detroit communities.

Since 1974, the Reggie McKenzie Foundation has worked to help children and adolescents living in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park succeed academically as well as socially. Reggie McKenzie, the Foundation’s namesake, grew up in Highland Park at a time when neighbors looked upon each other as extended families. The former professional football player has been trying to give back to the community

that cared about its young people. , Mr. McKenzie saw the plight of his community and the lack of opportunities for children living in the city. The organization began as an all boys football clinic, and has grown to become a co-ed program offering education, recreation, and team sports as a catalyst for developing social skills, responsibility, character, and knowledge to disadvantaged children and their families.
