"Advocates, don't be discouraged if you struggle to prompt big changes in your community. Just as many small actions can help cities grow incrementally stronger, the small impacts you have on others can lead to big changes over time."

As an advocate, it’s easy to feel discouraged when you can’t prompt any big changes in your community, or even among your loved ones. Be patient: Just as many small actions can help cities grow incrementally stronger, the small impacts you have on others can lead to big changes over time.

: Did you know that Robert C. Weaver made history in 1966 as the first Black American to be appointed to a cabinet position in the U.S. Government as the first Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development?

In his role, he expanded affordable housing programs and championed the passage of the 1968 Fair Housing Act. 🙌

We're proud to celebrate leaders who used their voices to make housing more equitable and accessible!
