Private investment companies are taking over infrastructure all over the world. We are no different. The infrastructure bill and inflation reduction act are predicted to increase the holdings if private investors in the coming years. We know how DTE can be.
Of course GLWA is a "public" entity and they are not fair either. Highland Park pays five times the rate for waste water service per capita than Grosse Pointe or Melvindale.
It is time for a serious rethink about how infrastructure is installed and maintained. I know it should not include profit for investors. I know it should be universally available at a fair price. Let's make it so!

The Inflation Reduction Act will spur the takeover of our infrastructure by private entities, particularly large global asset managers, with likely negative consequences.
