A Northern Kentucky University alum, Austin Elmore found his passion and talent for sports media by reporting for the university’s long-running independent student news organization, The Northerner. As the publication’s then-assistant sports editor, Elmore covered all things NKU athletics soon after the university’s transition to Division I status in 2016.

Congratulations to NKU alum Deborah Bertsch (’90), professor of English, on her retirement from Columbus State Community College! Pictured alongside fellow NKU classmate John McCauley (’87), the two reconnected decades after their NKU days while working together at Columbus State.

The Class of 2026 represents 17 countries, 35 U.S. states and 90 Kentucky counties — all united by Norse pride.
