A little Norse connection, all the way from Alaska.

Annalyse McCoy ’06 was performing aboard a cruise ship in Alaska when she mentioned from the stage that she was from Kentucky. Two audience members cheered and it turned out Lisa and David Johnston were fellow NKU alumni from Alexandria.

One “I went to NKU!” later, three Norse found each other thousands of miles from home.

One of our own is taking the stage in Cincinnati.

NKU alumna Kayla Pecchioni is part of the cast of The Great Gatsby, now playing at the Aronoff Center through Sept. 27.

If you’re looking for a night out, go see a Norse in the spotlight. And while you’re there, give Kayla a round of applause from NKU.

Where Are They Now Wednesday: Nearly 30 years after starting her NKU journey, Shauna Dunlevy ’01 is still finding ways to stay connected to the university she called home.

From dancing on the NKU Dance Team and teaching fitness at the NKU Campus Recreation Center as a student to now leading Cardio Sculpt classes every Sunday, Shauna has made movement and community a lifelong part of her Norse story. Today, she’s also a wife, mom of four and school mental health therapist, and still making time for the CRC, NKU basketball and the campus community she loves.

Talk about a full-circle Norse experience.
