From California Inland Empire Council Leadership:

March 14, 2020

SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF SCOUTING ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CALIFORNIA INLAND EMPIRE COUNCIL

Our unwavering commitment in Scouting is the safety of our youth members, families, volunteers and employees. First and foremost, the decision to participate in Scouting is voluntary and each family should make a personal decision for what level of participation, if any, they will have in Scouting meetings and activities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Our Council leadership continues to monitor this situation closely alongside local health officials to determine the most appropriate response to the conditions at hand. Therefore, in accordance with the announcement of School District closures, the California Inland Empire Council strongly recommends and expects an immediate suspension of all in person Scouting activities, meetings and gatherings until local School Districts resume operations.

The California Inland Empire Council offices and Scout Shops will remain open during this period.

All Scout Units, Districts, Council committees, etc. are to begin using conference calls, emails, and other communication channels to stay focused on Scout programs and postpone or cancel any gatherings until further notice.

Unit, District and Council leadership should respect any family's and individual’s decision not to participate during this outbreak and make plans to help Scouts re-engage after the outbreak has passed.

As Scouts and Scouters, it is our duty to Be Prepared. We also must not panic while making the best decisions possible for our Scouting programs and its members. Our Council leadership is committed to being diligent with regular communications as this situation evolves. If you have not read previous updates, we ask that you do so to stay abreast of this situation and use the resources and guidelines that are designed to help lessen the chance of spreading this virus and protecting our communities.

Good Evening Highgrove Cub Scout Pack 997!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
In light of the impact of the Corona Virus on our community state and world as a whole, our Council CEO had ordered a suspension of all scouting activities to include in person meetings until schools resume instruction. As such we will abide.

What does this mean for us as a Pack?

What this means is our Cuboree Camping trip is cancelled. And as much joy as I find in seeing all of your sweet adorable little faces, we are suspending all Pack meetings until school resumes and we will put the health and well being of our Scout Family and the Community ahead of all else so as to limit our exposure to our loved ones at home
What this DOES NOT MEAN?

This does not mean you are in the free and clear to put your scouting obligations on hold. You all still have your books. You can still work on your adventures at home. Some of you had homework that included sharing a snack. (Tigers and Wolves). You can still share your snack with the Pack by posting pictures of your delicious snack here on our group chat for the Pack to see. That includes if you need to do something like write or plan something on paper, please share what you have done here on our group chat so that you can get the credit you deserve. Until we meet again, please continue to keep DOING YOUR BEST. WASH YOUR HANDS, Practice Social Distancing,, Cover Your Coughx Sneeze Into Your Arm, and enjoy this time with your loved ones.

Had a great time with Games Tigers Play. Kiddos played Paper Plate Shuffle and Blanket Toss. They learned about team work and how to beat the system as a TEAM. Ms. Isabella and Ryan invented Paper Plate Toss and they shared it with the Pack.
