Let’s celebrate Camp Sandy Cove!
Friends – please join us for an evening of celebrating the work of the Lord at Camp Sandy Cove for the past 69 years. Come share your story (and hear others!) about the impact of our camping ministry. We’ll sing some camp songs. We’ll have a delicious meal. Chief Tim will share some truths from God’s Word. A great time of fellowship!

Hi Friends,
I would like to share that I have just accepted the position of Director of Ministries at Christian Camps and Conferences Inc. which operate Camp Brookwoods, Camp Deer Run, The Brookwoods Conference Center and Moose River Outpost.

Adina, Tilba, Dagny and I will be moving to Alton, New Hampshire very soon! Please pray that God would bless us in this new ministry experience!

Dear friends, campers and supporters of Camp Sandy Cove,

We have been overwhelmed by your outpouring of support and emotion these past several days.

Your incredible loyalty to the camp and gratefulness for how God has worked, is evident in your emails and Facebook posts. You bless us and the history of the camp with your thoughts, and expressions of sadness and thanks.

We have posted an FAQ sheet to address some of the questions you have been asking. However, we did want to clarify a few things in addition:

• Tim and Adina continue to be employed and will be as we close up operations. They are committed to finishing well and are wonderful examples of 2 Timothy 4:7 “finishing the race, and having kept their faith.” Their graciousness is particularly seen in their commitment to continue to minister to the broader Camp Sandy Cove community.
• It is evident that we need to come together at some point in the future to celebrate and thank the Lord for the many years of strong ministry. Further information to follow.
• As the FAQs detail, the reasons for closing are entirely financial and missional. We can assure you, that as sad as this decision is, there are no other issues of a legal or civil matter about to surface

While none of us expected that we would walk this journey, we are grateful for the continued presence of God in this difficult time. Your prayers for everyone impacted are appreciated

Dear Family and Friends of Camp Sandy Cove,

It is with sadness that we write to inform you that Camp Sandy Cove in West Virginia will be permanently closed effective October 1st, 2018.

After 2 years of discernment and prayerful consideration of options for our West Virginia based ministry, the Sandy Cove Board of Trustees ultimately recognized several indicators that Camp Sandy Cove was not sustainable and reluctantly made this decision.

Camp Sandy Cove has impacted the lives of thousands of youth in multiple locations since 1950. The legacy of the camp will live on in the lives of those campers, and the many staff and volunteers who gave unreservedly of their gifts and time over the past 69 years. We are forever grateful to the Nielsen family, who for multiple generations has tended to the ministry of Camp Sandy Cove through their passionate leadership and care.

The Maryland Campus of Sandy Cove Ministries, including the Chesapeake Lodge, The Marsh Day Camp for youth, and seasonal campgrounds will continue to serve our guests.

We are thankful for members of our community such as you. Your continued support is vital to our ability to help people connect with God and each other in order to be transformed into the image of Christ, through His Word, His creation, and community.

That's a wrap! We've had such a blast this summer at Camp Sandy Cove. We are sad to see the fun and adventures come to an end, but we are leaving with so many lifelong memories!
