Tiffany's Christmas Cheer, in memory of Tiffany Angela Beck, has been established to help a limited number of families in the North Central Florida area who might need some assistance in providing "cheer" for their families during the holiday season. Tiffany was born on October 27, 1971, and died in an automobile accident on May 15, 1994, at 22 years of age. She was the middle child. She and her o
lder brother, Steven Beck, always played fun games together as children. When we got our new swimming pool she wanted to be the first in and just as she was walking out the sliding glass doors, here comes brother Steve running as fast as he can and jumps into the pool before her. Boy was she mad. One Christmas, she went shopping in the school gift center. She was so proud of her purchases, particularly the gift for Mom. She wrapped it and brought it to the dinner table before Christmas to show the family. "You will never guess what is in here," she says. Mom starts guessing and, of course, does not guess. So her brother Steve says, "I know, it is a pig." You have never seen such big crocodile tears from Tiffany. It makes my heart sad that she was sad. It was a paperweight. I still have that pig with baby pigs to this day and cherish it. It reminds me that the giver of gifts wants the gift to be secret and special. Giving is more special than receiving. When Tiffany was 11, she became the ad-hoc mother to her baby brother Edward. How she loved him. She would take him everywhere. Such a bond she had for him. She was a brownie, cheerleader and in high school she was a member of the Chiefettes, a dance team with the marching band. She sure did have a zest for living. Her first job was that of a waitress for an Italian restaurant. One of our favorite photos of her was taken after she cashed her very first paycheck and fanned out all that money. Tiffany had many friends who always remember her on her birthday and throughout the year. Several of her friends have named their children after her. One friend says every act of kindness is with "Tiffany on My Mind." Acts of Kindness with "Tiffany on my Mind". Now there is a tribute. One of her friends this year stated that Tiffany was happy and fun, and she was always smiling and laughing. Her smile lit up the whole room. Just like her mom, she loved fashion. If she had lived, I think she would have been an elementary school teacher.
