Fellow Sisters and Brothers,

Can't draw a straight line? Don't believe you have talent? That's bologna. The late Bob Ross quotes "Talent is a pursuit of interest". If you don't believe and/or take the step to pursue it, then you talked yourself out of wanting to try with a little practice. On May 31st, Saturday, experienced and "first timers" are invited to a fellowship oil painting class taught by Randy Tritch featuring: "Mountain Gaze", "The Ascension": ACTS 1:9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Stay tuned for details by email and a sign-up sheet in the Friendship Room or message Randy Tritch.

Currently I'm recovering from rotator cuff surgery, but will resume oil painting classes soon! Meanwhile, happy painting! Attached are some of my past winter paintings, and mountains. Looking forward to sharing the love of oil painting to those curious and willing to pursue the interest. As inspiration, part of the classes I will be sharing a short Christian devotion relating to the current Sunday's sermon text.

Saturday, JULY 27TH, 2024, from 9am to 1pm, church basement at Hope Lutheran, High Ridge, MO, Randy Tritch will lead a painting class in sync with the LCMS Church Calendar for Sunday July 28th:
Mark 6:45-56
Jesus Walks on the Water:
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 48 And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night[a] he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50 for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” 51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52 for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened. Imagine the oil painting pictured attached looking at it from the shore and how beautiful it looks. Then again imagine being out on the water in a boat in those rough waters! Two completely different scenarios that can we can relate too. Some days the world is beautiful and peaceful looking, but inside the same frame, which contains this world, can be rough waters, wind and storms. This can make us suffer, be afraid and shaken. But Jesus has overcome the world of danger, sorrow and despair resulting from our sinful nature. Jesus walks of the water and gets in our boat and calms the sea. He give us peace in our hearts and minds from His victory over sin, death and the devil by taking all our sin, becoming sin for us and crushing it to give us eternal salvation in His Kingdom to everlasting peace and life with the Father and all His saving Glory.

Painting demo to our Class Reunion this weekend with a 1974 class mate from St. Paul's College, Gail. She done a great job for her very first oil painting!

A simple pond scene painting looks hard, but if followed step by step, takes away the deception.

Well the turn out wasn't that great this time, but the 4 who showed, painted they're hearts out! It wasn't a good time to get out with Temps as low as 5 degrees, but the brushes were hot. Fiest your eyes on these.

The January Class is full, but there are some openings for the February 10th class. You can contact me thru email ([email protected]) or Facebook Messenger. Randal Tritch will lead a class painting in sync with the "Transfiguration of our Lord" as recorded in Matthew 17:1-9,
The oil painting pictured attached is not the mountain Jesus went up on, but can portray in our hearts as being on a high mountain. The sun is shining on the snow-covered mountain face and becomes white as light. Totally awesome to be reminded of how Jesus’ face shone like the sun as he was transfigured on a high mountain. This mountain painting with the sky glowing red, reminds us of the Gospel of our Lord for God's plans and promises to give His only begotten Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sake. This painting, the paints you will need are:
