HIGH POINT COUNTRY CLUB

Dr. Dan Barnard is the Director of the High Point Theatre. While Dan has been with us previously, we are thrilled to have him today to tell us about the upcoming 51st season of shows and events to be held at OUR performing arts center. It remains a gem of activity for our citizens. Dr. Dan Barnard grew up in Texas. He has a Doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Kansas. After beginning his career as a Choral Conductor and instructor at Western Nebraska Community College, Penn State Erie, and Dakota Wesleyan University, Dr. Barnard decided to use his expertise to make a difference in the cultural life of his community by directing performing arts programming at the University of Texas Brownsville, Broward College and Mississippi State University. Before coming to High Point in 2024, he served as the very first Executive Director for Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music – a theatre and museum project in progress in Marty’s hometown of Philadelphia, MS. Dan and his wife, Angela, recently celebrated their 30th anniversary and have two college-aged children.
