Programs available at West End:


West End General & Furniture Thrift Stores: provides low cost household items, clothing and furniture for the community. Hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday 10:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm. Leslie’s House: This program offers transitional housing for 22 single women as well as case management and additional supportive services with the goal of a healthier, self-sufficient life. The Winter Women’s Shelter is open December through March providing additional safe, warm space with supportive services. To learn more, click here:

Outreach: provides classes and activities for neighbors and residents of Leslie’s House to enhance skills, offer training and provide recreational opportunities. Community Meal: provides a hot meal served to approximately 200+ neighbors weekly on Thursday evenings at 5:30pm. Food Pantry: distributes food boxes to qualifying neighborhood residents each Thursday afternoon. High Point LEAP: West End provides community partnership for leaders and children participating in this literacy and development program. Emergency Assistance: helps households with utility or rental/mortgage assistance. VITA Tax Services: provides free tax preparation service to neighbors in the community making less than $41,000/year.

As we reflect on the past 60 days or so and head into the last months of the year, we are filled with gratitude. Our community has come together, served together, donated together and, most recently, enjoyed music together Charles Ray Concert Series to benefit our ministries. Thank you. The Charles Ray Concert Series is a High Point, NC benefit concert series for West End Ministries, which has run food pantry, women’s shelter, and crisis assistance programs for the local community since 2001.
The event is rain or shine. We’ll make a decision on Friday, in accordance with the weather forecast. Check out social media for updates. Thank you for your support.

Thank you to the Summit Church for spending last week with us during their Serve week. They started off Tuesday by serving with our seniors for the monthly senior luncheon. Then Wednesday, 160 of their youth served all over campus. Wow, what a great time we had! Then Thursday, they ran our Food Pantry and Community Meal along with helping JT in our Thrift Stores. Friday, they served on our Mobile Food Pantry day and in our Thrift Stores. Saturday, they completely redid the patio at Leslie’s House and started making frozen meals for the house. Sunday, they served in our Thrift Stores again and finished the night serving dinner and playing games with our Leslie’s House residents. We love our partnership with The Summit Church and all of our Church partners.
