Which type of development gives a community more value for the land it uses?

A large property may pay more in total property taxes, but that is only part of the picture. Spread-out development often requires more roads, water and sewer lines, power lines, and stormwater systems.

Urban3 compares properties based on the tax value they generate per acre. This helps communities see which development patterns make the most efficient use of land and public infrastructure.

Compact neighborhoods and downtown buildings can generate more value per acre while using infrastructure more efficiently.

As work continues on the Heritage Greenway in Southwest High Point, we're excited and inspired by what our neighbors in City of Greensboro have accomplished.

We love seeing great things happening across the Triad, and Greensboro's national recognition for its Downtown Greenway is certainly something to celebrate.

What a great reminder that greenways are about so much more than trails. They create connections, celebrate community and make our cities more vibrant places to live.

Great communities grow when we learn from and cheer each other on.
Way to go, Greensboro!

When Little Sally first arrived in Southwest High Point, cleanup crews were collecting nearly three bags of litter every week.

Today, thanks to ongoing cleanup efforts, community partnerships and Southwest Renewal Foundation's Anti-Litter Campaign featuring our environmental mascots, Foxy and Roxy, that number has dropped dramatically.

The "Be Smart. Don't Litter." campaign helped turn awareness into action, reducing litter collection from nearly 12 bags per month to fewer than two!

Even as visitor traffic has increased with school groups and summer travelers, litter levels have remained low, a sign that small actions, consistent messaging and community pride can create lasting change.

We love to see what we can accomplish when our community works together!
