The Furniture City Kennel Club and the Forsyth Kennel Club will be memorializing a valued member of both clubs, Howard Yost. Howard passed away this spring. Howard's niece and his family will be at the show Saturday present Best In Show in his memory.

We will be running a slide in Howard's memory at the FCKC club desk. If you have pictures of Howard, please send them to Siobhan Olsen (Forsyth KC) or Eric King (FCKC).

Hello all dog fanciers - Just to let everyone know the premium for November show, Nov 7th and Nov. 8th, is up on MB-F website. It is also open for entries.

NOTE: Wake Forest Football homecoming is also on Sat. Nov 7th. So please plan ahead for hotels and RVs. We will send a separate message and RV reservations over the weekend.

With the upcoming 250th celebration of our country, there will be lots of fireworks 🎇🎆🎇

Most animals get anixois with the bangs and loud noises. The 4th of July holiday sees more animals get lost from their owners. Here are some steps one to can take to ensure your animal’s safety.

1) Microchip - Make sure all your contact information is up to date. If your pet does not have a microchip, get one ASAP. It is simple and cheap protection for your animals

2) Pictures - Do you have a recent picture of your animal? If not take some pictures NOW! Pictures are another common tool to help find your animals

3) Conversation with Vet - If your dog has anxiety with loud noises, see talk with your vet to seek his opinion. He might options like medication or other tools like “Thunder Vest” to help calm your animal.

4) Finally and most importantly, keep your pets indoors during the fireworks.

Please your NC legislature know your feedback on these amendments to the bill. The bill has issues with temperature regulation and requirements for housing dogs at home.

Yesterday (June 16), the North Carolina Judiciary 1 Committee approved an amended bill regarding tethering and shelters for dogs which includes some positive amendments, but some concerns remain.
