To share the full picture, we are helping to manage the Clothing Closet, offering ESL assistance, holding staff appreciation days, gathering for prayer, beautifying the campus, providing Backpack Food, and investing in students through mentoring and sports. They’re our neighbors!

“Will the school prayer gathering be repeated?” That was the question we heard repeated. First, we like that question - let’s continue praying! Second, yes, we will gather again! Here are prayer prompts for you too:

💚Pray for students, teachers, coaches, staff, principals, SROs, nurses, social workers, bus drivers and counselors (everyone) to know forever hope, healing and resilience. To have hope-filled wisdom and to be clear-minded as they learn. Pray for each to have at least one hope-filled friend who builds them up and encourages them towards good!

💚Pray for compassion and care as life happens, for resources and partners to help schools, families, students. For finances and support. Pray that none go hungry and each has a safe place to sleep.

💚Pray for churches to realize the awesome power, responsibility and resources we have and prayerfully act on it. Pray for Green Street to love and invest in our community. Pray for mentors and other volunteers.

💚Pray against bullying, abuse, confusion and all schemes of evil. Pray for protection mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Pray for truth, peace and justice.

We are committed to ministry across every generation, young and old, and we believe that ministry starts right where God has placed us: with our neighbors, and with prayer. Prayer this Sunday 2pm.

As part of Green Street Baptist Church’s Love for the City outreach and our Invest in Schools ministry (Invest in Schools kit available at www.greenstreet.org/missions), we will gather this Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 PM to pray for one of our neighborhood schools, Ferndale Middle School.

Ferndale is also the recipient of our weekly backpack food ministry, giving us an opportunity to serve students and families in a tangible way throughout the school year.

This Sunday is an opportunity to come together and cover the students, teachers, staff, and families of Ferndale Middle in prayer, while looking for ways to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors.

It starts with our neighbors.
It starts with prayer.
And it starts with us.

You’ve been amazing! Thank you for giving so that we can supply 40 food bags weekly at Ferndale Middle September-June! This is the last Sunday for our food drive but you can participate throughout the year by dropping off items at the church office M-Th 8:30-5pm.

Dan Hodgson, founder of Acts Ministries High Point, shared with students last night regarding the scripture (Matthew 25) which led him to begin the ministry.

The Cafe is held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Green Street Baptist Church, you can help too. ACTS needs 300 bags per month - on top of what the students are providing.

You can help by providing items needed for the bags (nabs, small water bottles, individual Gatorade, small packs of cookies, mints, soft protein bars, small beef jerky stick, gallon and sandwich size ziplock bags).
