We’re moving globally as we introduce you to those we invest in. Due to security, we honor the family’s requests and the leading of their employer NOT to share their name, photos, exact location in any way (no social media, no email, not in print). The G Family has deep ties to Green Street! They’re currently serving in Europe and everyone is great. We hope to serve with them one day but timing hasn’t lined up just yet.

💚Prayer Requests:
Pray for their neighbors many of whom walk past churches every day but have no idea of what they represent, who celebrate holidays started in faith without the second though of the One commemorated, who are so blessed by God but have no relationship with Him.

Personally, the G Family kids aren’t kids anymore! All are great and they appreciate your prayers as each follows Christ in their own journeys.

Pray for ease of travel and expenses as they visit us.

Baptists On Mission has determined that an overnight Disaster Site needs to be opened in the Fayetteville area due to tornado damage from Hurricane Isaias this past weekend. Lodging can begin tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 14). BOM will provide your meals, hot showers and plenty of work.

👷Bring your recovery trailer if you can but we also have tools for you to use. Please make sure you bring your PPE for chainsaw work (chaps, helmets, eye and ear protection). We will have some Chainsaw Kits available for purchase if you need a set for $65.

💚Prayer Requests

—Pray for RUF at JMU as we have a number of non-christians in our midst, pray for their conversion.

—Pray that we would raise the funds needed to continue next year.

—Pray for me as I lead a staff of interns, training them in ministry.

—Thank God for this gift! A very generous donor has given us a $10,000 matching grant this past week. What that means is that this donor will match every new dollar raised for RUF at JMU, up to $10,000 through the end of the year. This means every dollar I raise gets doubled! This is both a huge encouragement and a huge help to our lack of funding.

We join you in prayer for those in the hurricane’s path and the helpers too. If there are needs, we will share news from Baptists On Mission Disaster Response in concert with Green Street’s Disaster Response Team. We cannot imagine the traumatic experiences of those who have known loss from prior hurricanes.

We continue introducing you to those we invest in through our budgeted Missions Support Fund.

Kimi Smith is with Bridges International at NC State University where the nations are at our doorstep! Her husband Adam grew up at but, recently, felt led to serve the Lord in a different manner and took a different position.

NOTE: Please do not tag them in posts as they prefer to have less of a trace on social media.

There are over one million international students studying in the United States today. Bridges International is making every effort to see that international students have opportunities to hear the gospel with the hope of discipling them and sending them back to their home countries or wherever the Lord leads them around the world as future missionaries.

At NC State University, they have around 5,000 international students and scholars from 120+ nations! They range from undergraduate students to postdoctoral scholars.

💚Prayer requests —
- May God soften the hearts of students who come to our events, giving them ears to hear and understanding from the Bible.

- May God encourage believing students in their walk with Him and increase their love to share the gospel with their roommates, classmates, friends and families.

- May God provide ministry partners to meet the need of $500 per month.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll introduce you to those we invest in through our Missions Support Fund (included within the budget, approved by the Missions and Finance Committees).

First is Beka Severs who grew up at Green Street! She has served with a Charlotte inner-city outreach ministry, Urban Eagles, for many years. They use sports, soccer, to gather and engage the students.

While she interacts with all ages, Beka focuses more on high school-aged girls, but they have programs for elementary through high school and weekly contact with all ages.

We visited Beka and experienced an amazing gathering of students in worship, Bible study and testimony.

- For more male staff to join our Urban Ministry team

- For growing presence and relationships in our east Charlotte international community

- For more financial partners to join Beka’s support team

“How did Jesus interact with people? Jesus is our example.” Thank you Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina for the wonderful training today on trauma.

This was a great beginning to our equipping sessions which will help us best serve people and share the compassion and love of Christ.

Join with us not only praying for B*H but for the church to send laborers! You could be the person who makes a pivotal difference in someone’s life.
