Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Triad

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential.

All school children ages 6-18 years old are accepted into our Clubs and yearly membership fees are $2.00 so that our services are accessible to all. With a membership at our Clubs, children receive award-winning programs from trained and caring staff that includes homework assistance and fitness activities. A hot meal and a snack are also provided daily, in a fun and safe environment. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater High Point is a United Way Partner Agency.

📚 Reading: Terry B. (3rd Grade, Forest Hill) with an outstanding 56.8% growth
➗ Math: Nathaniel M. (Kindergarten, Forest Hill) and Kamryn H. (Kindergarten, Hub Elementary), who tied for the highest math growth with 49.1%

These achievements are more than just numbers. They represent confidence gained, skills strengthened, and brighter futures being built every day at our Clubs. Seeing this kind of measurable growth is a powerful reminder that the programs, caring mentors, and academic support provided at BGC Triad are creating meaningful outcomes for the young people we serve.

The data doesn’t lie — our Club Kids are growing. 🎉

On June 10, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recognized BGCTriad for academic growth through our 21st Century Community Learning Centers programs — and invited us to share what’s working with organizations across the state.

17% of members who started the year below grade level in reading have reached grade level. 9% reached grade level in math. Some of our kids grew more than 50% in reading and 40% in math over the course of the year.

That’s what happens when you have people like Heather Brock and Michelle Bickford-Matthews building the kind of programming and data systems that actually move the needle for kids.

Athletics might bring them through the door, but academic excellence is what we’re building toward — for every Club Kid, at every site, across the entire Greater Triad.

We celebrated an incredible end-of-year Teen Promotion Celebration as our youth prepare to transition from the elementary side of the Club into our Teen Center and into middle and high school. 🎓

Club members are up to 2x more likely to graduate from high school on time, which is why celebrating each milestone matters. Every step builds confidence, connection, and momentum toward that 12th grade graduation goal. 📚

At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Triad, field trips aren't just fun days away from the Club, they're opportunities to explore new careers, visit colleges, experience arts and culture, and discover possibilities for their future.

Research shows that students who participate in educational field trips demonstrate higher levels of engagement, critical thinking, and long-term learning retention. When young people experience new places and possibilities firsthand, they begin to see a future they may never have imagined. Exposure creates opportunity, and opportunity creates success.

Many of our Club members would not have access to these experiences without the support of donors like you!

The last day of our Afterschool Program is June 5. The Clubs will be closed June 8–12 as our team prepares for summer programming.

We look forward to welcoming members back on June 15 for an exciting summer filled with fun, learning, and new experiences!
