Wowza ...High Point University's Build-A-Bike A-Thon brought so many gleeful smiles to our C3 kids. First they were treated to ice cream, game time in the arcade, and then a surprise reveal at the Millis Athletic and Convocation Center......new bikes and helmets for each child - lovingly constructed by the HPU freshmen as they learn the importance of "service to the community". Joy does not even begin to describe the excitement our children experienced. Thank you High Point University for giving our 21 children, staff, and board members an afternoon they will never forget!

Today was an impactful day of collaboration at C3. A working mom with 3 children escaped domestic violence - living in her car in High Point until C3 found her and secured emergency hotel housing. A huge shout-out to the Out of the Garden Project's - "Thrive Basket" packed with items designed to be used by our families in hotels...non-perishable food, cleaning and toiletries supplies, a hot plate, and other needed articles. What a great collaboration to reach those in need.

Pastor Jeff shared yesterday about Jesus’ love for children and, sadly, the abuse many children suffer. Our recent local missions camp, monthly Life Skills, various special programs, and the Backpack Giveaway are with local partners similar to who Pastor Jeff described. Serve with us!

100% of our great partner, C3 Community Collaboration for Children, Inc. client families, whom we serve with closely, have experienced traumatic incidents, domestic violence, other crimes, homelessness, or the effects of poverty.

Many of these families are served through Guilford County Family Justice Center who is also a partner we appreciate.

And, let’s not forget our local city schools! We are a proud partner at Ferndale Middle School, as well as others!

While we can’t serve directly with children at Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, we have other opportunities!

We thank God for our local partners and for Green Street Baptist Church members who serve with us.

A rhetorical question: where in HP can a mother and her children park the car they "live in" and have access to electricity, and running water/toilets? This is the reality for many female-headed families who cannot find shelter or affordable housing in HP. The crisis is real in our community. Families and friends are always proud of their graduates - but at C3 we share extra pride as we have "walked the walk" with our 5 new graduates. All have overcome tremendous obstacles with determination, grit, and resiliency. Four of them are college bound - and one is seeking a professional career in a community service job to give back to the community that has supported her. Congratulations to each of them!
