In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the African American Initiative (AAI) of United Way of Greater High Point is launching a collaborative service project with High Point LEAP and Life Church to support neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Together, we’re collecting essential items to create Winter Care Kits for our community. You can help by donating supplies, giving online or purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist. Donations may also be dropped off at United Way of Greater High Point, 815 Phillips Ave.

This holiday season, community partnerships made a meaningful difference for a local family. ❤️ 🎄🎁🎅

Abdallah Temple #189 generously donated food to provide a full Christmas meal for a family of up to nine, identified through United Way of Greater High Point partner agency Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont. Faculty at High Point University added to the impact by donating holiday gifts to help make the season brighter for the children.

Together, the High Point Shriners, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont, High Point University, and United Way of Greater High Point showed the power of collaboration—coming together to support families, spread hope, and strengthen our community when it matters most.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, United Way of Greater High Point has reached 85% of our $4,000,090 campaign goal. Every dollar raised supports 24 partner agencies and 58 programs working every day to strengthen our community.

As part of our 90th anniversary celebration, we’re revisiting our roots! United Way of Greater High Point began with five partner agencies, each committed to serving our community with compassion and care.

We're sharing then and now photos highlighting how these incredible agencies have grown—and how their missions continue to make a difference today.

Empowering children, women, and families through learning, leadership, and community connection — the YWCA High Point has been a steadfast force for growth and opportunity across generations.

❄️ New Heater Giveaway Added! ❄️

With temperatures dropping, we’re grateful to share that a heater giveaway has been added for neighbors facing heating emergencies.

🗓 Tuesday, Dec. 16
⏰ 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
📍 Triad Food Pantry, 1311 Johnson St.

🔌 Electric heaters will be distributed to individuals with heating emergencies.

Requirements:
✔️ Photo ID
✔️ Must be a resident of High Point, Archdale, Trinity, or Jamestown

Please help spread the word so those in need can stay warm. 💙
