Happy Birthday Lisa 🎉💕!

For more than 20 years, Lisa has been a steady, caring presence at Montessori Schoolhouse. She first came across the Montessori approach while working with young children and was struck by the confidence, independence, and joy Montessori nurtured. When she enrolled her own kids, she watched those same qualities bloom and knew she wanted to be part of it.

Lisa has MEPI Primary certification and is passionate about helping children grow into curious, capable learners. She’s known for her attentiveness, warmth, and thoughtful approach to each day. A moment she still remembers fondly: a parent pausing at the door and saying, “You really love what you do, don’t you?”

Away from the classroom, Lisa enjoys writing, making art, and exploring music. She’s also the proud parent of two Montessori grads who grew up with the same love of learning she now helps inspire in others.

Dublin, Normandy, Wales, London, Paris, and more... this adventure gave us far more than passport stamps.

Over the past two weeks, parents, teachers, students, alumni, family members, and friends explored Ireland, Wales, England, and France together. We experienced history firsthand, visited world-famous landmarks, enjoyed local food, and gained a deeper appreciation for the people, cultures, and stories that shape these remarkable places. From the beaches of Normandy to the streets of London, from Versailles to the Eiffel Tower, these experiences will stay with us long after the trip itself and help shape how we see the world.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable journey. We returned home with full camera rolls, tired feet, and a broader understanding of the world and our place in it.

Now that Europe 2026 is in the books... Japan 2028? 🇯🇵✈️🌏

Nothing says “thank you” to teachers quite like a big Heartland Pantry snack box filled with chicken salad sandwiches and goodies for everyone to have for lunch andsnack on throughout the day. ❤️

We loved being part of Teacher Appreciation Week today. Thank you, Ashley and Megan, for allowing Heartland Pantry to help spoil the teachers a little bit. We hope everyone enjoyed the snacks today‼️❤️

We plan time and even travel for quality professional development because truly effective teachers keep learning from those doing the work and the research behind it.

At the AMI Montessori Congress 2026, our teachers are learning from voices like Gabor Maté and Angeline Lillard, leaders whose research and work continues to support and strengthen the core principles of Montessori education. This conference only happens every four years and we are thrilled to be able to be here!

We bring back understanding, insight, and knowledge that translate to our classrooms. These experiences genuinely shape our work and honor the dignity and importance of each child and their education.
