The "giving season " is nearly upon us and for the 14th consecutive year Holy Family CYO is seeking to bring the magic of Christmas/ Hanukkah to children with cancer. We are happy to be partnering with the Michael Magro Foundation again this year.
Parents with sick children face not only burgeoning medical expenses but often a significant loss of income if one parent is forced to give up their job to care for their sick child. No child, especially one in treatment, should have to miss out on the magic of the season bc of financial reasons.
You can help us bring Christmas joy to sick children by making a donation- cash, check or venmo. Checks should be made payable to the Michael Magro Foundation and mailed to me at 2 Mitchell Court Hicksville 11801. If you venmo me (-hebron) please show "Adopt a Child " in the notes.

We are incredibly honored and grateful to receive a $3,000 grant from The Townwide Fund Of Huntington!

On behalf of the entire Michael Magro Foundation Board, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Townwide Fund of Huntington, its Grant Committee, Committee Chair Ron Friedman, and Executive Director Alice Marie Rorke for their generosity and continued commitment to making a difference in our community.

This generous grant will directly support our Life Essentials Program, helping families facing pediatric cancer manage everyday expenses that can quickly become overwhelming while caring for a child undergoing treatment.

A portion of these funds will also be used to provide gift cards for the children, giving them the opportunity to choose something special for themselves. Whether it is a favorite treat from Starbucks, something they have been wanting from Amazon, or another little surprise, these moments mean more than we sometimes realize.

For a child whose days may revolve around hospital visits, treatments, and medical appointments, something as simple as picking out their own gift can bring a sense of excitement, independence, and normalcy.

Because childhood cancer affects the entire family, our mission is to support the entire family.

It is about easing financial burdens, providing comfort during difficult times, and creating moments of happiness when families need them most.

To the Townwide Fund of Huntington, thank you for believing in our mission and helping us continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children battling cancer and the families standing beside them. Your generosity makes these moments possible, and we are truly grateful! 🧡

Pediatric cancer affects far more than a child’s health.

A diagnosis can change school, sports, friendships, routines, work schedules, finances, and the day-to-day life of an entire family. Parents are navigating appointments and treatment plans. Siblings are adjusting to changes they may not fully understand. Families may be traveling for care, missing work, and carrying expenses that quickly add up.

And those challenges don’t simply disappear when treatment ends.

At the Michael Magro Foundation, we believe families facing pediatric cancer deserve support through every stage of the journey. Whether it’s helping ease a financial burden, providing comfort during treatment, or simply reminding a family that they are not alone, support matters.

Because when a child is diagnosed with cancer, the impact reaches the whole family. 💛
