On March 12, 1912, Juliette Low gathered 18 girls to register the first troop of American Girl Guides, today known as the Girl Scouts. From the original 18 girls, Girl Scouting has grown to 3.7 million members. Girl Scouts is the largest educational organization for girls in the world and has influenced the more than 59 million girls, women and men who have belonged to it.

Some unexpected things have come up and we all have collectively agreed to cancel tomorrow meeting 2/1/22. I am sorry for this last minute message, but we believe that family is very important. We are also asking for prayers in these trying times. Thank you all for understanding.

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY BETTY WHITE!
Not only was this former Girl Scout an actress and war volunteer, she was also a major animal rights activist! In honor of the legacy she left, everyone is encouraged to donate $5 to their local humane society / no-kill shelter.
If you would like to participate, please consider our local Laurens County Humane Society
They rely on donations, to run their facility, and if even half of us give $5, we could really help them continue to help the community.

Did you know Betty White was also a Girl Scout? It's true! The same year Betty was born (1922) was the same year "The American Girl," the magazine published by Girl Scouts of the United States of America, the organization offered up a way for troops to collect money — baking cookies. Yep, originally, troops had to whip up their own batches. Which means that Betty White was around the whole time Girl Scout cookies have been! Did you know that in 1941, Betty White put her career on hold so that she could serve with the American Women's Voluntary Services during WWII? That's right! She served her country!
Girl Scouts can do AMAZING things!
Thank you Betty, for always being a friend....an advocate....a pioneer and most of all, a Sister to every Girl Scout
