Lions Close Historic Month With New Members
The Towns County Lions ended August 2025 on a high note after finishing the momentous 75th Anniversary Georgia Mountain Fair with another celebration by welcoming 2 new members to the club during the August 26 meeting at the Georgia Capital of Country Music, the Anderson Music Hall.
A warm welcome and best wishes to the newest pair to join the Lions team: Guy and Kay Fish, sponsored by Truman and Nancy Whitaker.
With the Fairgrounds concert schedule set to shift to an even higher gear for the final quarter of the year, it’s a good time to encourage and remind the performance patrons in attendance to consider purchasing the 2025 season Autographed Guitar Raffle tickets for the drawing of the winning ticket for the prized guitar which will be during the last concert of the year.
The Towns County Lions want to thank the volunteers who sell the tickets in the lobby during the shows: Sybil Davis, Nancy Dearborn, Karen Garrett, Janie McConnell, Danny and Martha Meeks, Shirley O’Quinn, Susan Shupe, Rogers Stone, Truman and Nancy Whitaker, Dale and Susan Willrich. The raffle tickets sales directly support the Lions’ Towns County High School Scholarship Fund which this season will go to the eligible Class of 2026 Senior graduates.
The Fall 2025 Series of the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Acoustic Sunsets at Hamilton Gardens continues on Thursday nights, September 4, 11, 18, 25, and October 2 and 9.
Don’t miss the 52nd annual Fall Regional Shelby/Mustang and Ford Car Show September 19 and 20 at the Fairgrounds.
The famous dynamic duo of Dailey and Vincent bring their always enjoyable road show to the music hall September 25-27 with Grand Ole Opry guest stars to raise the roof and our spirits! Reserve your tickets now for the best seats!
Wait until you see who’s performing at the Fall Festival in October! Check the Fairgrounds website for the full schedule because it’s a humdinger! See you there.
