Thanks to your support, the Towns County Historical Society raised $290 through our September campaign that was donated directly to support Imagination Library in Towns County!

These funds will help put books into the hands of local children and encourage a love of reading. As we preserve the stories of our past, we’re proud to support the next generation whose stories are still being written.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us pass it on!

Tonight is your last chance this season to visit the Old Rock Jail after hours!

Stop by and explore the jail before we close it down for the season, then head over to the square and enjoy the Hiawassee Night Market - there’s only 2 of those left this year!

Come spend your Friday evening with us in downtown Hiawassee!

🦋 It’s 9-25! 🦋

Today is the perfect day to Pass It On!

Throughout September, the Towns County Historical Society is donating 25% of every donation made to the Berrong-Oakley House restoration to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, supporting children right here in Towns County.

What does that look like?

A $100 donation to the Berrong-Oakley House means $25 goes to the Imagination Library, enough to help support one Towns County child receiving books for an entire year!

The remaining $75 stays right here with the restoration, helping us preserve the Berrong-Oakley House for future generations.

So on 9-25, we’re asking you to help us celebrate with a gift — whether it’s $9.25, $25, $100, or whatever amount is right for you.

Help preserve our past. Help inspire a child’s future. Pass It On. 🦋
