π¨β¨π§©πSENSORY PLAY DAYππ§©β¨π¨
We didnβt just playβ¦ we felt, moved, and learned!!
Our Sensory Play Day was intentionally designed to support the whole child through multiple sensory systems:
β¨ Proprioceptive (heavy work): pushing, pulling, and racing with weighted objects
β¨ Vestibular (movement & balance): obstacle courses, balance beams, and scooter play
β¨ Fine motor: Play-Doh self-portraits, pincher sorting, and hand-strength activities
β¨ Tactile (sensory bins): exploring textures to promote calm and regulation
Students not only built strength, coordination, and body awareness, but also learned how different sensations impact their mood, focus, and emotions.
We ended by creating self-portraits and sharing what makes us unique
Because sensory play isnβt just funβitβs foundational.
