The SIBSPlace Auction’s overall mission is to promote awareness of, and provide financial support for, SIBSPlace programs and services. Proceeds from the event benefit SIBSPlace, a free support program for well children with a sibling or a parent who has cancer or other devastating illness. This annual event is attended by nearly 400 community residents, hospital administrators and staff. A Silent
Auction takes place exclusively during the cocktail hour (6:30-8:00pm), followed by the Live Auction portion of the program held in the main dining room. The generosity and benevolence of individuals and businesses that donate luxury goods, rare memorabilia and travel and entertainment packages, and each person who bids generously throughout the evening, is vital to the continued success of SIBSPlace. The SIBSPlace Auction is spearheaded by a volunteer committee of concerned community members in conjunction with South Nassau Communities Hospital, who work diligently and devote immeasurable time and energy to the success of the evening. Community members Susan and Joel Schneider will co-chair the 2012 Auction honoring Donna and Mark Baron, managing partner of Parking Systems, a premiere valet parking provider in the New York metro area, in recognition for their support, commitment and loyalty to the mission and vision of SIBSPlace and South Nassau Communities Hospital.
