So we as an association endorsed the candidate that we believe will do the best job. We decided on Gina Long for Judge. Now since we made that choice we have heard rumors that we endorsed her because her husband is a police officer. That is completely false! He had no influence on our decision. We have seen posts about Barrett Thomas stating his law enforcement background. He was asked a question and blocked me. The shared post below states that he switched jobs because he was a reserve officer and that seven jobs were as a reserve. His TCOLE shows two reserve police officer jobs. Now we do not bash candidates but we feel that when a question is asked then it should be answered truthfully and the candidate should be able to verify it.

We endorsed Gina because we believe she is the most qualified and best choice!

It’s always interesting to watch someone discover outrage only after the door closes on them.

Let’s clarify a piece of the story voters deserve to understand.

My opponent didn’t just observe these political conversations, he participated in them. He actively played the role.

He switched his candidacy from the 74th District Court race to the 170th based on the very political strategy he’s now denouncing.

The problem is… the plan didn’t unfold the way it was expected to.

Judge Meyer did not retire as anticipated and the pathway that was being counted on never opened.

So now, rather than acknowledge that reality, we’re seeing an attempt to reframe the narrative, positioning himself as someone standing against a system he was fully willing to work within when he believed it would benefit him.

Voters should look at the full timeline, not just the emotion of the moment.

Because judicial temperament isn’t tested when things go your way, it’s revealed when they don’t.

Steadiness. Restraint. Professionalism under pressure. That’s the standard required of anyone seeking the bench.
