This morning, the Hesston Resource Center was blessed with over 191 lbs of donated items and a generous monetary contribution from the Roth family and the Swather Power Club event honoring Kris Roth.

Kris’s influence on our community is undeniable, and today’s outpouring of support is a beautiful reminder of that lasting impact. As we continue our mission to assist Hesston residents in need, Kris’s legacy will live on in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to the Roth family and the Swather Power Club for your incredible support of the Hesston Resource Center.

🧡 Help Us Support Hesston Families in Need
The Hesston Resource Center is currently experiencing a surge in visitors, as many of our clients—and other residents in the Hesston area—are facing increased financial hardship. While we typically see a rise in need during the final months of the year, this season has brought even greater challenges due to delays and reductions in SNAP benefits for November.

We’re doing everything we can to meet this growing demand, and we’re deeply grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from our community. Your generosity makes our work possible. But right now, we need your help more than ever.

🛒 Our shelves are starting to show bare spots, and the need continues to rise. We’ve identified the items we’re most in need of at this time and would be incredibly thankful for any contributions.

If you’re looking for ways to support the Hesston Resource Center and our mission to serve local families, please consider donating the items listed below. Monetary gifts are also deeply appreciated—they allow us to extend our support beyond food assistance to help with rent, utilities, and other critical needs.

Just a reminder to Hesston residents! We are aware that people on SNAP benefits are likely to lose their benefits starting Nov 1st. Please know that we are an organization that is here to help our Hesston residents who are in need. Please keep us in mind as you navigate these trying times. We have access to a lot of resources (thanks to the generosity of our community) and are equipped to help those who qualify for assistance through our government programs.

If you need some help, feel free to come in and visit with us during normal business hours.

We have 3 freezers and 1 refrigerator that still work and would like to offer them up free of charge to anyone that is in need. They are sitting out behind the Hesston Resource Center on Pacific St. The working appliances are marked with blue tape. Better hurry though! Jims Appliances will be back around to take what's left over later this afternoon.

Big things happening today at the Hesston Resource Center. February of 2024 the Resource Center received a $25,000 grant from the Healthy Harvey coalition and Blue Cross Blue Shield. This grant has helped our center with facility upgrades and implementation of the Healthy Eating Research program where we clearly identify foods that are healthy and help our clients choose healthier food options.

During the past couple of months our center has lost a few freezers leaving us with little to no place to store frozen and refrigerated food. Today, thanks to this generous grant we were able to take delivery of all new freezers and a new refrigerator. We are thrilled! A huge shout-out to Jim's Appliances of Inman. Those guys were amazing. They price match and have the best service around.

If you are in the area during our normal business hours, please feel free to stop in and check out our upgrades.
