💔 Remember Bruno? The little poodle who was left behind when his family moved away?

The dog who slept outside the only home he had ever known, waiting for people who were never coming back.

Through rain, loneliness, and hunger, Bruno stayed faithful. Kind neighbors would occasionally toss him food, but no one came for him.

When we shared his story, so many of you cried for Bruno.

Today, we have some beautiful news.

❤️ Bruno's foster family in Colorado fell completely in love with him and has decided to adopt him. ❤️

After everything he's been through, Bruno finally has what he's always wanted: a family of his own.

But his journey isn't over yet.

Next week, his family will be making the drive from Loveland to Durango so Bruno can receive much-needed dental care. Years of neglect have taken a toll on his teeth, and he is scheduled for a dental cleaning with what will likely be multiple extractions.

While we're thrilled that Bruno has found his happily ever after, we need help covering the cost of the medical care that will help him start this next chapter pain-free.

No dog should have to suffer from chronic dental pain, especially after everything Bruno has already endured.

Have you ever looked at a dog and thought, "You know what my life needs? More laughter, more adventure, and significantly less personal space."

Well, Mario may be your guy. ❤️

At just 9 months old, Mario is everything people love about Labs wrapped up into one adorable package with the BEST ears you've ever seen. He's goofy, playful, affectionate, and approaches every day like it's the best day of his life.

Need a hiking buddy? Mario's interested.

Need someone to remind you that every toy is the greatest toy ever invented? Mario's already on it.

Need unsolicited hugs and kisses? Mario considers that part of his job description.

Mario loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine friend to romp around with. Cats, however, remain highly suspicious creatures in his book. Kids can be a little overwhelming at first, but once he realizes they're friends, not aliens, he settles in nicely.

Like any young Lab, Mario is still learning the finer points of adulthood. He can get excited on leash, occasionally forgets that not everyone wants to move at warp speed, and would benefit from someone willing to continue his training and help him channel all that enthusiasm into being the best dog he can be.

In just seconds, Lady’s life flashed before her eyes — and we are so lucky she is still alive.

Lady is a 5-year-old Miniature Pinscher whose owner called our veterinary clinic in a panic after she had been attacked by another dog.

Sadly, the attack happened while our clinic was closed. Because her family could not afford an emergency veterinary bill, Lady waited three long days before she was able to be seen.

By then, her wounds had festered. Infection had set in. What was already traumatic had become life-threatening.

Dr. Victoria did everything she could for this tiny girl. She cleaned and treated the wounds, placed a drain, started antibiotics, and sent her home with detailed care instructions — but with so much time passed, we honestly did not know if it would be enough.

Lady’s family was still struggling financially and had not been able to pay off part of her veterinary bill. They loved her, but they needed help they simply could not afford.

And then one of our own stepped in.

Thank goodness for veterinary technicians who care with their whole hearts. Millie offered to take over Lady’s care, and Lady’s owners signed an owner surrender so we could legally and properly continue treatment.

Dr. Victoria even came in on her day off to help Millie clean, re-suture, and place another drain after the first one had come out.

Now Lady is safe in foster care with Millie, receiving antibiotics, wound care, cleaning, comfort, and the constant monitoring she needs to heal.

This is just one story of how Denkai’s staff and veterinary clinic go the extra mile for this community. We have hundreds more stories just like Lady’s — animals suffering, owners desperate, and a clinic trying to bridge the gap when families cannot afford urgent care.

We need your help to fundraise for Lady’s care and for so many others just like her.

One day, we hope we can be open seven days a week to meet the overwhelming need in our community. Until then, we will keep doing everything we can to alleviate suffering, save lives, and stand in the gap for animals who have nowhere else to turn.

Some dogs arrive with loud stories… and some arrive quietly carrying years of life behind their eyes.

Meet Kiara. This precious 8-year-old Pug made the long journey from Tijuana hoping for something she may have never truly known before… safety, comfort, and someone to love her simply for who she is.

Kiara is a special little girl.

Her eyesight is impaired and her hearing isn’t the best, so the world can feel a little uncertain sometimes. But what she may lack in sight and sound, she makes up for with the gentlest heart.

She is quiet and peaceful — no barking, no chaos, no drama. Just a sweet soul who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. A soft bed. A gentle touch. Someone nearby to remind her she is safe and loved.

At eight years old, Kiara isn’t asking for much.

💕 Adriana has come such a long way from her days surviving on the streets of Tijuana, Mexico while caring for her puppies.

This sweet mama may be a little timid when meeting new people, but give her a little time and her loving personality shines through. Once she trusts you, Adriana wants nothing more than to be by your side and will happily follow you wherever you go.

She's settled beautifully into her foster home, gets along great with the other dogs and cats, sleeps through the night, and is doing wonderfully with her potty habits. Adriana is a loyal, gentle soul who simply wants to be part of the family.

At 3 years old, Adriana is past the puppy chaos but still has so much love and life ahead of her. And at only about 15 pounds, she's the perfect little companion to take wherever life leads.

Now all she needs is a forever home where she can finally be the one being cared for. ❤️🐾
